40. Mü’min Sûresi - 82. ayet

Onlar, yeryüzünde dolaşıp kendilerinden öncekilerin sonunun nasıl olduğunu görmediler mi? Üstelik onlar, bunlardan hem daha çok, hem de kuvvet ve yeryüzündeki eserler bakımından daha güçlü idiler. (Fakat) kazanmakta oldukları şeylerin kendilerine (hiçbir) faydası olmadı. [krş. 30/9; 40/21; 46/26-27]

Have they not travelled throughout the land to see what was the end of those who were ˹destroyed˺ before them? They were far superior in number and might and ˹richer in˺ monuments throughout the land, but their ˹worldly˺ gains were of no benefit to them.
