Onlara: “Rahmân’a secde edin.” denildiği zaman, “Rahmân da nedir? Senin bize emrettiğine mi secde edeceğiz?” dediler ve (bu secde emri) onların nefretini artırdı.

When it is said to them, “Prostrate to the Most Compassionate,” they ask ˹in disgust˺, “What is ‘the Most Compassionate’? Will we prostrate to whatever you order us to?” And it only drives them farther away.

وَاِذَا قٖيلَ لَهُمُ اسْجُدُوا لِلرَّحْمٰنِ قَالُوا وَمَا الرَّحْمٰنُࣗ اَنَسْجُدُ لِمَا تَأْمُرُنَا وَزَادَهُمْ نُفُوراًࣖ
